Many machines in our industry pre-date the businesses who made them more famous.

Among them, the Bane machine, the above mentioned SD, various CRBs, the coffee urn steam carpet cleaners and the Cimex. Sometimes by several decades.

I bought one years ago for use in high rise apartments I could not reach with Butler unit. Biggest draw back was the apartments had lousy water pressure which affected the performance of the machine. Most had crappy water heaters too which made it a luke warm fizzle piss demon. But, It did the job at the time. Today with proper pre conditioner, I can do an amazing job with a CRB. No need for hose life line either.

Never. I would only use a stand alone CRB on highrise apartment carpets. I would never clean a residential carpet without my Butler. I have seen CRB alone in houses by other companies. It is not pretty,
